Afifa Eidher is a Dental Hygiene Practitioner with over 30 years of full-time clinical experience, primarily in Vancouver. She holds a French Diploma in Dental Hygiene and a Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc). Now based in Sun Peaks, Afifa works with the BC Dental Hygienists’ Association (BCDHA) and is dedicated to advancing oral health through mobile care, advocacy, ongoing education, and removing barriers to access for vulnerable populations.
After losing her mother to early dementia in 2014, Afifa developed a profound understanding of the challenges families face in caregiving. Her personal experience continues to shape Afifa's gentle, compassionate approach, ensuring each resident feels respected, at ease, and well cared for.

Each client will receive a comprehensive dental hygiene examination, oral cancer screening, and a review of their medical health history. Findings will be discussed with the appropriate family member or Power of Attorney, and personalized recommendations will be provided based on those findings. These assessments will also be completed at every subsequent appointment to ensure ongoing safety and optimal care.

We provide thorough cleaning and assessment of full and partial dentures, along with on-site denture labeling to ensure proper identification within the care home. Regular checks of dentures and the soft tissue in the mouth are important for spotting problems like irritation, sores, fungal infections, or unusual changes early, and for making sure dentures fit well to help with speaking, These assessments also help reduce the risk of aspiration, denture-related pneumonia, and discomfort caused by loose, broken, or ill-fitting dentures—helping residents maintain both oral and overall health.

Regular dental hygiene care supports overall health and can help reduce the risk of conditions such as aspiration pneumonia, heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, and complications related to diabetes management. Poor oral health can also affect chewing and digestion, impacting nutrition and overall quality of life.
If any concerns are identified that require additional care, referrals can be made to dentists, physicians, or other appropriate health professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment and follow-up.

At Entera Dental Hygiene, we believe everyone deserves access to compassionate, high-quality oral health care. Our goal is to remove barriers and make preventive dental hygiene services available to those who need them most.
Preventive care and education are at the heart of what we do—supporting not only oral health but overall well-being. Clients and families can expect a caring, respectful approach built on trust, comfort, and understanding.
We are committed to delivering professional, evidence-based care with genuine compassion—because every person deserves to feel valued, supported, and confident in their smile.
